Developed in response to requests for a simplified authorisation and payment method, Autocharge negating the need for an app or a charge card by enabling charging to start directly after the user has plugged in the vehicle at a Fastned station and also providing automatic billing.

Open to all electric vehicles with a CCS fast charging port, the solution uses a unique car identifier which is transmitted to the fast charger, following a one-time registration. The unique car identifier is communicated from the EV through the CCS protocol without the need for an additional device.

Autocharge is currently in operation with a small group of users and is expected to roll out across the Fastned network within a few weeks.
