The first batch of electric vans from Chinese brand Farizon is now in the UK ahead of rollout with fleets.

The first batch of vans encompasses two of the eight variants that will be available in the UK initially

Importer Jameel Motors Farizon Auto took delivery of the vans in Felixstowe, Suffolk, and said their arrival shows it means business.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Geely Holding Group – China’s largest private vehicle manufacturer and owner of Volvo Cars, Polestar and Lotus – Farizon is working to disrupt the UK electric van sector. Designed and built for Europe, the Farizon SV (SuperVan) features bold design, cutting edge technology and modular customisation (see our interview here) along with up to 247 miles of WLTP range.

Sales start this quarter and, as shown by the van’s UK arrival, first customer deliveries are on track for Q2 2025.

Tom Carney, managing director, Jameel Motors Farizon Auto said: “Landing the first UK-spec vans at the port sends a strong message to UK retailers and customers: we mean business. We introduced ourselves and our plans for the Farizon SV last month, and we’re on track to meet our ambitious timelines.”

The first batch of vans encompasses two of the eight variants that will be available in the UK initially with further deliveries following.

Built on a bespoke ‘born electric’ modular platform, the eight panel van variants on offer to UK customers will range from L1 H1 (4,990 mm long; 1,980 mm high) through to L3 H3 (5,995mm long; 2,500mm high). Payload is up to 1,390kg with a load capacity of up to 13m3.

First UK drives of the Farizon SV are scheduled for late February

L1 and L2 variants will have 67kWh and 83kWh LFP battery options, with the L3 H3 variant equipped with either an 83kWh LFP or a 106kWh NMC battery. L1 H1 and L2 H2 83kWh models are expected to account for the lion’s share of uptake.

Combined WLTP range is between 177 and 247 miles and Jameel Motors cites an urban WLTP range of up to 342 miles.

The brand will also publish real-world unladen and laden range figures, once UK-based testing is complete, giving fleets insights into everyday practicality.

The  Farizon SV has already received a Platinum safety award from Euro NCAP with a score of 85 points, which places it among the UK’s best options for safe and reliable large vans. The award also makes Farizon the top-ranked Chinese electric commercial vehicle brand in the Euro NCAP ratings.

The electric van has undergone a rigorous one-million-mile testing and development programme and, according to the firm, meets or exceeds every European standard, including in durability, safety and sustainability.

The first UK drives of the Farizon SV are scheduled for late February. UK specifications and pricing will be confirmed soon.
