Formula E, the all-electric racing series, is offering EV salary sacrifice to its employees in a new deal with Tusker.

More than 200 eligible staff members will be given access to new and used electric vehicles

More than 200 eligible staff members will be given access to new and used electric vehicles through the scheme.

The introduction of the scheme aligns with Formula E’s commitment to sustainability as an all-electric motor racing championship and enables its employees to also experience the benefits of EVs in their everyday lives, not just on the racetrack.

The move follows Liberty Global’s increased investment in Formula E, with the multinational telecoms company now owning 65% of the organisation. Liberty Global also offers an EV salary sacrifice scheme to its employees, and Formula E was keen to follow suit, not only to provide a valuable benefit for staff but also to reinforce its commitment to sustainability.

Kat L’Oste-Tomkins, people director at Formula E, said: “Supporting eligible employees to drive electric vehicles offers multiple wins. This new salary sacrifice EV car scheme not only supports our vital environmental efforts, it also provides employees with substantial savings on the cost of an electric car.”

The introduction of the scheme follows close work between Tusker and Formula E’s management, including its chief financial officer, to provide comprehensive guidance on the scheme’s benefits and implementation.

Alastair Crawford, account development manager at Tusker, said: “There is a growing trend for organisations to adopt this type of scheme to not only support their net zero goals, but to support employees with their vehicle expenses. It’s been fantastic working with the team at Formula E. Given their sustainability goals and focus on electric innovation, our collaboration was a perfect fit. From the outset, we worked closely with their teams to address any concerns and ensure a smooth rollout.”
