GeniePoint now accepts the Zap-Pay EV charging payment service provided by Zap-Map across its national EV charging network, simplifying use by drivers.

Zap-Map and EQUANS, the company that owns and runs the GeniePoint network, signed an agreement last year to include GeniePoint in the Zap-Pay partner network

The network – operated by EQUANS and running a broad range of rapid and destination chargers at locations such as Morrisons and Premier Inn – is the fourth to come online with Zap-Pay, following Osprey, ESB Energy and char.gy.

The completed integration means that a total of more than 1,700 charging devices across the UK are currently Zap-Pay enabled. As well as being able to search for charge points, plan longer journeys and share updates with other EV drivers, Zap-Map users can now pay quickly and easily for their EV charging on all four networks up and down the UK.

More integrations and announcements around Zap-Pay are to follow over the coming weeks and months.

Launched in September 2020, Zap-Pay was founded with a mission to include all the key charge point networks across the UK. As a single-app payment system that uses a credit or debit card to pay for charging, Zap-Pay avoids the hassle of using different payment methods across all the various networks. It also includes a 24/7 multilingual helpdesk for all payment-related issues, which is provided by EVA Global – an international, leading managed services provider, specialised in the electric mobility industry.

All GeniePoint charge points in the UK have been Zap-Pay enabled and are available to use via the Zap-Map desktop and mobile apps.
