Gridserve has been granted planning permission for a new Electric Forecourt in Derbyshire’s Markham Vale development, near the M1.

The site will feature 25x 350kW-capable ultra-rapid chargers and 5x 22kW AC chargers

The site will feature 25 ultra-rapid chargers, able to deliver up to 350kW, along with five 22kW AC chargers. All will be supplied by 100% renewable energy as part of the sustainable energy firm’s Sun-to-Wheel ecosystem.

Located between Enterprise Way and the eastern side of Duckmanton, the new site will provide new ultra-rapid facilities adjacent to one of the UK’s busiest motorways

Construction is due to start later this year, with the opening targeted for the second half of 2024.

It will join Gridserve’s existing Electric Forecourts at Braintree and Norwich, while the firm’s third site will open at Gatwick later this year. Gridserve also has planning permission for Electric Forecourts at Nevendon, Gateshead, Plymouth and Stevenage; more than 30 additional sites also under development.
