GWM reveals UK launch pricing for hybrid SUV
GWM has revealed that its Haval Jolion Pro hybrid SUV will go on sale in the UK from February 2025, priced from £23,995 to £29,995.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of the news of its UK rebranding and range expansion and showcases its growing plans for the market here.
The Chinese carmaker, perhaps best well known in the UK for the Funky Cat electric car, revealed last week that it’s repositioning in the UK with the switch from the GWM Ora moniker to just GWM, due to an expansion of its plans. The automaker has five global brand lines – Ora, Haval, Wey, Tank and Poer – and is looking to launch more of them over here.
First to arrive is Haval and GWM has now confirmed the arrival of the Jolion Pro hybrid compact crossover. Already successful in markets including Australia, it lands in the UK in early 2025 as a Qashqai arrival that’s actually more X-Trail sized, making it one of the larger SUVs in its class.
The Jolion Pro will be available with a single hybrid powertrain and Premium, Lux and Ultra grades.
The powertrain pairs a 149hp electric motor with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, producing 189hp combined peak power and with a theoretical driving range of 620 miles.
Design features include 17- or 18- diamond-cut alloy wheels, bold front grille design, dynamic front LED lights and rear ‘single eyebrow’ LED taillights. Top-spec Ultra trim level vehicles also get an electric panoramic sunroof.
The interior comes with a 7-inch full-colour driver digital cluster alongside an LED multimedia touchscreen, up to 12.3 inches depending on specification and equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, plus a Bluetooth hands-free system. The hybrid SUV also comes with smart keyless entry and push-button start, while Lux trim levels also add heated front seats and the Ultra trim gains ventilated front seating, head-up display, 360-degree camera and wireless phone charger.
More than 100 built-in active and passive cutting-edge safety features feature as standard. These include driver drowsiness protection, brake override system, secondary collision mitigation and automatic rear cross traffic braking. Safety systems also include auto emergency braking, lane departure warning and blind spot detection. All ADAS functions are fitted as standard, while the top-spec Ultra trim is also equipped with auto parking assist.
In Australia, the Haval Jolion Pro has been awarded a maximum five-star safety rating in the ANCAP (Australian New Car Assessment Program) testing.
The GWM Haval Jolion Pro hybrid crossover will also come with GWM’s five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
Sales and aftersales of the Haval Jolion Pro will be available from all current GWM Ora dealers from launch; retailers will also realign with the new GWM branding by mid-February.
