Honda e:Ny1 electric SUV: Prices and specs revealed
Honda has dropped details of its e:Ny1 electric SUV, which will be priced from £44,995 when order books open late October.
The brand’s second fully electric vehicle for Europe and its first electric family car, the e:Ny1 has a big role to play in Honda’s electrification plans.
Similar in looks to the new HR-V, it’s the first model to be built on Honda’s all-new front-wheel-drive e:N Architecture F platform. The powertrain combines a 204hp electric motor and a 68.8kWh battery, giving up to 256 miles of WLTP range.
It’s initially available in two grades: Elegance and Advance.
Specification on entry-level Elegance grades also includes an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat in synthetic leather, heating functionality for both front passengers, auto-dimming mirrors, dual-zone air con, a wireless charging pad and multiple USB ports, smart entry and push button start as well as power heated mirrors, sequential indicators, and privacy glass.
Both models come with a 10.25-inch digital instrument display and 15.1-inch central touchscreen with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.
Drivers can use the My Honda+ app to schedule climate control and remote charging via their smartphone as part of the Core Connectivity package, which is complementary for the first eight years of ownership.
A Digital Key package, which enables the driver and up to five others to lock, unlock and start the vehicle via the app, is free of charge for the first year of ownership.
The Safety and Journey package, also complimentary for the first year, provides Digital Roadside Support in the event of a breakdown, while Geo Fence technology notifies the owner if their vehicle is moved or travels outside a set area without authorisation.
The Advance grade is priced from £47,195 and introduces black or light grey premium synthetic leather seats, panoramic sunroof, heated leather steering wheel, premium audio system and handsfree power tailgate.
Advance models also feature Honda’s Parking Pilot system, which uses a multi-view camera system and side sensors to enable semi-autonomous parking in six scenarios, including bay, parallel and diagonal parking.
Honda’s full suite of Sensing active safety technology is fitted as standard across the e:Ny1 range. Driver aids include Collision Mitigation Braking, Blind Spot Information, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition, plus front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
In the UK, all e:Ny1s will come with a five-year care package, which includes servicing, guarantee (three-year manufacturer’s and two-year extended guarantee), plus five years’ UK and European roadside assistance.
First deliveries of the Honda e:Ny1 are expected from January 2024.
