Hydrogen station to open in Rainham next spring

Part of the UK-wide HyFive project, which is laying the foundations for fuel cell vehicles, the station will be built by ITM Power, having received permission from Havering Borough Council to erect the facility at The Centre for Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) in Essex.

ITM Power says it currently has £10.46m of projects under contract and a further £5.71m of contracts in the final stages of negotiation. There were no objections to this application.

Dr Graham Cooley, CEO of ITM Power, commented: “ITM are pleased to announce the decision by Havering Borough Council to grant planning permission for a hydrogen refuelling station at CEME, this is a key step in rolling out refuelling infrastructure in East London”
