Hyundai has announced details for the petrol and hybrid versions of its new Kona crossover, which will be priced from £25,725 and £30,025 respectively.

On sale later this year, the new model will be offered with a range of fully electric, full hybrid and petrol powertrains, as with its predecessor, while delivering enhanced styling, space and technology.

The line-up will include two petrol engines and one hybrid, available with four trim levels. A fully electric version will also be available, with up to 305 miles of range.

Prices for fully electric vehicles are yet to be announced but the ICE line-up will start with a 120hp 1.0-litre turbo petrol with a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and CO2 emissions of 131-150g/km.

It will be available in the Advance trim level, which includes 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch on hybrid models), dual zone climate control, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, cruise control (smart cruise control with stop and go function on hybrid and DCT models), electric parking brake, front and rear parking sensors with rear camera and guidance system and keyless entry with start/stop button.

Onboard technology includes dual curved 12.3-inch screens, Bluetooth, DAB radio, LIVE services, MapCare, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering wheel controls and front and rear USB C charging points.

The same powertrain can also be had in N Line guise (£27,525 for the manual or £29,325 for the DCT) or the sportier N Line S (£29,925/£31,725).

The N Line adds in bespoke styling features plus extra equipment such as powered tailgate, heated steering wheel and wireless charging pad for compatible devices.

The N Line S builds on this with extra features such as Alcantara and leather trimmed seats that are heated, ventilated and get electrical adjustability, three-zone air con and Bose sound system with 7 speakers and subwoofer. The top-rung N Line S also gain additional driver assistance features.

Ultimate models are priced the same as N Line S but with more toned-down styling, taken from the Advance and upgraded with extra features such as full-width horizon centre daytime running lights with full projection LED headlamps, black leather seats, opening sunroof and the Bose sound system. They also deliver enhanced safety equipment.

The petrol line-up also includes a 198hp 1.6-litre turbo petrol with either manual or DCT transmission for an extra £1,800. It’s available with either the N Line S or the Ultimate trims, priced at £31,725 (manual) and £33,525 (DCT) for the former and £31,725 (manual) and £33,525 (auto) for the latter.

Hybrid models feature a 141hp 1.6-litre powertrain with six-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox, delivering 101-117g/km, depending on the version. They cost £30,025 in Advance trim, £31,825 in N Line and £34,225 in N Line S and Ultimate.

Pricing for the fully electric model is yet to be announced. It will be offered in two versions: Standard Range with a 48.4kWh battery and 156hp of power, plus Long Range with a 65.4kWh battery and 218hp of power. Both deliver 255Nm, are front-wheel drive and support up to 400V charging. Range stands at up to 305 miles.
