Hyundai Motor UK has secured a fleet deal to supply Michelin UK with its first electric cars.

Hyundai won the exclusive deal to provide EVs to Michelin UK on the back of the quality and value offered by the Ioniq 5 and the Ioniq 6

Michelin’s UK division has taken delivery of 10 electric vehicles from Hyundai, marking the first time it has made zero-emission cars available to its staff. The new arrivals include two Ioniq 5 electric cars and eight Ioniq 6 models in Ultimate guise, delivered to Michelin UK’s headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent at the start of June and already in service out on the road.

Hyundai won the exclusive deal to provide EVs to Michelin UK on the back of the quality and value offered by the Ioniq 5 and the Ioniq 6 – which took the Best EV Compact Executive Car crown at the 2023 Great British Fleet Awards – as well as its ability to fulfil the order quickly and efficiently.

Paul Beauchamp at Hyundai retailer Motorfair, Mark Robbins from funders Holman and Stephen Cassar, Hyundai’s account manager, also worked to ensure a rapid and seamless experience.

Alastair Cameron, national operations manager – services and solutions at Michelin UK, said: “Michelin has long recognised the need to develop innovative products and solutions that can reduce our impact on the environment, and in the UK we are now extending this approach to the vehicles we run on our fleet. So, we are delighted to have taken delivery of our first electric cars from Hyundai. The Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 have deservedly picked up an array of awards and plaudits over the past couple of years, and there are no better choices for us to start our EV journey with.”

It’s the latest in a series of notable wins for the Hyundai Business team. In the past few months alone, it has sealed deals to provide several hundred vehicles to businesses ranging from building products suppliers through to textile rental companies.

Alongside its product range, Hyundai Business also offers a dedicated business section of the Hyundai UK website with cost calculators and comparison tools, and  a large virtual account manager team and a comprehensive Fleet Aftersales Charter that guarantees affordable costs and quick service.

Tim White, head of fleet, Hyundai Motor UK, said: “Michelin is a company that has rightly earned a reputation across the world as a leader in its field, so we are justifiably proud that here in the UK it has decided to start transitioning its fleet to electric vehicles by choosing the award-winning Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. With our range of ground-breaking cars and commitment to delivering the very best service, Hyundai Business has proven yet again that it is a thoroughly compelling proposition for customers.”
