IKEA Canada to offer country-wide EV charging

The stores will form part of the Sun Country Highway network, with each location getting 60-amp charging stations with two J1772-standard connections, compatible with North America’s biggest-selling plug-in vehicles. IKEA’s stores are located alongside major routes through the country.

Brendan Seale, Sustainability Manager for IKEA Canada, said: “The transportation sector is one of the largest sources of carbon and climate-related emissions, and our EV charging stations will help to encourage our customers to adopt lower carbon travel options to get to and from IKEA stores.”
