Kaluza brings EV charging solutions to Australia and New Zealand

Energy software platform Kaluza has expanded into Australia and New Zealand in a milestone move that will bring new EV charging solutions to the region.

Over the next 12 months, the business will build a local team of energy solution experts, product leaders and software engineers to support activity in the region. The team will work closely with Kaluza customer AGL Energy, one of Australia’s largest energy retailers and generators, to ensure the success of their ‘Ovo Energy Australia’ joint venture to accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions across the country and develop new EV and solar propositions for AGL’s customers.

Kaluza is also expanding its managed charging programme to New Zealand with partner Meridian Energy. Through this new service, Kaluza will manage the charging of Meridian’s customers’ EVs in response to their needs as well as market signals and pricing data.

The expansion marks a significant landmark in its global growth strategy. Kaluza has also announced the appointment of Conor Maher-McWilliams as regional director, who will spearhead operations from Melbourne and brings a wealth of expertise to the role. This includes his leadership of Kaluza’s demand response programmes, including a vehicle-to-grid deployment said to be the world’s first and largest.
