The new arrival forms part of the SUV and pickup maker’s revised UK model line-up following its recent corporate rebrand.

The Torres five-seat SUV will get the turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine seen in the Korando and married up to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive versions will arrive first, followed by all-wheel drive models later in the year.

The UK line-up will also include the Torres EVX, featuring a 73.4kWh battery and a 204hp electric motor on the front axle. It’s expected to deliver a range of 287 miles.

KGM is also continuing development work on further electric models, including a pickup truck, midsize SUV and a large SUV, using dedicated fully electric platforms in partnership with BYD. Mass production of the first two is expected to start in H2 2024.

The brand says it’s aiming to elevate its offering of premium and innovative products in-line with its refreshed global brand identity, all underpinned by its ‘Powered by Toughness’ vision.

KGM is also revamping its trim line-up with a new system of K20, K30, K40 and K50 variants. The Musso pickup however retains its established EX, Rebel, Saracen, and Saracen variant names.
