Europcar Mobility Group UK has added the Kia Niro EV to its expanding electric fleet.

The Kia Niro EV now available to hire from Europcar locations across the UK

Boasting a WLTP range of up to 285 miles, the fully electric family SUV is now available to hire from Europcar locations across the UK, giving drivers the chance to put electric motoring to the test.

Other EVs on the existing Europcar electric fleet include the Tesla Model 3, Mercedes-Benz EQ range, MG4 EV, Jeep Avenger Electric and the Škoda Enyaq.

Europcar research shows there is still some uncertainty among drivers around electric motoring, despite a growing awareness that zero emission journeys are the way forward.

In its latest EV Barriers research, 64% of drivers said the purchase cost and maintenance was the biggest barrier stopping them from switching to an EV, followed by 46% being uncertain about lack of charging infrastructure
