Less than a month to apply for 2019 Fleet Heroes Awards
Fleets and businesses at the forefront of eco innovation are being reminded that there is less than a month left to apply for the Energy Saving Trust’s 2019 Fleet Heroes Awards.
The flagship event – taking place on 28 November at the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square – celebrates organisations that are delivering a cleaner and more efficient future for transport, while the accompanying Fleet Heroes Conference brings together transport experts, business and government to discuss fleet sustainability and innovation, low-emission vehicles and air quality.
Categories for the 2019 awards – now in their 14th year – include the Smarter Business Travel Hero award, which will recognise an organisation that is reducing the impact of their business travel and positively influencing their drivers to reduce carbon and nitrogen dioxide emissions.
In addition, the Sustainable Deliveries Hero accolade – new for 2019 – will spotlight an organisation that is improving the efficiency and sustainability of their delivery or collection services, and is truly leading the sector.
Meanwhile, work by organisations to offer an innovative product or service that reduces carbon emissions or air pollution, or which presents a novel solution to a transport/travel challenge, will be celebrated through the Innovation Hero title.
And a further four accolades will also be presented (see full list here), ensuring there’s an award for every size and type of fleet. The deadline for applications is Monday 30 September.
The awards are free to enter and free to attend, and will be held following this year’s Fleet Heroes conference, which is supported by the Department for Transport and spotlights the latest fleet and transport industry eco developments.
The event will bring together transport experts, prominent businesses and government representatives, and includes a mix of informative presentations and lively discussions – confirmed items on the agenda include sessions on the electrification of cities and fleets.
As with the awards, the conference is free to attend – with bookings open now.
