McArthurGlen York EV charging hub now largest in region
The charging facilities at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York have received a major boost, making the EV hub one of the largest in the region.
The expansion by RAW Charging quadruples the available power of the existing charging provision, upgrading all eight dual chargers to a maximum of 22kW and giving the ability for 16 vehicles to charge simultaneously at the centre.
The chargers are all tethered and socketed, giving drivers the option to use the cable provided or to bring their own; all whilst shopping at the outlet, which has over 120 designer stores.
RAW Charging, one of the largest UK providers of electric vehicle charging solutions and infrastructure, said the launch of the site supports fast-rising demand for destination charging.
CEO Bruce Galliford continued: “We are excited to continue working with McArthurGlen, supporting EV drivers to charge their vehicles away from home. We are continuing to rapidly grow our estate providing good value, well-located destination charging throughout the UK.”
As a charging station operator (CPO), RAW is building one of the UK’s largest networks of EV chargers, focused exclusively on destination charging. Under its European Signature Partnership with ChargePoint, the business already has framework and management agreements with customers who own in excess of £100bn of commercial property in UK and Europe.
Paul Tyler, centre manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York, said the work would further improve the experience of guests visiting the centre.
“We know that more and more people are using electric or hybrid vehicles, so giving customers the option of reliable and affordable onsite charging during their visit was important to us and we’re looking forward to seeing them being used.”
