MFG opens new EV charging hub near Gatwick Airport
Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has gone live with its latest EV charging hub, situated at its Horley forecourt next to Gatwick Airport.
Kitted out with the firm’s EV Power brand, the site is equipped with four ultra-rapid 150kW charging bays, capable of adding 100 miles of range to vehicles in some 10 minutes.
Located on the road into Gatwick Airport, the hub is not only on one of the busiest routes in the UK, but is also easily accessible for the residents of both Horley and Crawley.
It’s part of MFG’s wider commitment to invest £400m into installing EV chargers across its network of sites by 2030. The network already has more than 800 ultra-rapid chargers, ranging from 150kW to 300kW, across more than 130 sites within the UK – said to be the highest number currently in the independent forecourt sector.
MFG is also continuing work to improve its hubs, augmenting its 150kW chargers with 300kW and 400kW devices as vehicle battery technology improves, in order to maintain the fastest charging times across the MFG network.
Martin Symes, EV director at MFG, said: “We remain committed to electrifying the whole of the UK and providing charging options for all our customers through our significant investment over the next few years, and have already kicked off 2025 with a number of new and refurbished sites, and look forward to updating on our progress throughout the year.”
