NEPO launches EV charging procurement framework agreement for public sector
NEPO, the North East Procurement Organisation specialising in public sector procurement nationwide, has launched a new EV charging procurement framework agreement for the public sector.
Available to all local authorities and public sector organisations across the UK, it’s designed to help stimulate the investment needed to deliver and grow the UK’s EV infrastructure and will encompass the operation and maintenance of new infrastructure.
Suppliers available through the solution include AMP EV, Apcoa, Believ, Connected Kerb, Equans, Swarco UK, Ubitricity and Zest.
NEPO will work with the Mayoral Combined Authorities and local councils to ensure the new framework agreement delivers the wider economic and environmental ambitions in the region by working with suppliers to develop social value commitments that further reduce carbon emissions, improve skills and support local communities.
Steven Sinclair, procurement and commercial director at NEPO, said: “By working with NEPO Member Authorities and Transport North East, our framework offers contracting authorities unparalleled access to flexible EV charging solutions. This not only empowers local authorities and the wider public sector to meet their environmental commitments but also propels the nation towards a net zero future.”
Tobyn Hughes, managing director at Transport North East, commented: “NEPO’s innovative new Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure solution will help to deliver a step change in the pace of EV charge point rollout across the North East.
“We have recently adopted a North East Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy, which aims to deliver excellent charging infrastructure in our region, and build better confidence in the people who use it.
“We were therefore delighted to work with NEPO to design a flexible solution that will help us to deliver our investment pipeline in new electric vehicle charge-points, through a range of high-quality suppliers, for the benefit of the North East’s residents, businesses and visitors alike.”
