The new Q8 e-tron is now on sale in the UK, following a raft of changes and a rebrand from the former e-tron nameplate.

On sale now, the brand’s flagship electric SUV and Sportback are priced from £67,800 to £117,000 OTR and feature improved efficiency, a redesigned exterior and higher charging performance.

As before, the model range comprises SUV and Sportback bodystyles, both with three powertrain options with electric all-wheel drive as standard and delivering faster charging abilities (see details here). Electric driving range is up considerably and stands at up to 330/343 miles WLTP (Sportback) for the 55 e-tron SUV and Sportback 55 e-tron.

The core line-up comprises four specs: Sport, S Line, Black Edition and Vorsprung. The SQ8 e-tron model is only available in the latter two higher-rung specs.

Standard equipment across the line-up includes adaptive air suspension, quattro all-wheel drive and progressive steering. Comfort features bring heated and electrically adjustable front seats, windscreen with acoustic glazing, the Audi Virtual cockpit, keyless-go and two-zone automatic air con, including enhanced remote preconditioning.

Standard safety features include rearview camera, lane departure warning, Audi pre-sense front and basic, parking system with 360-degree sensors and camera traffic sign recognition. Matrix LED headlamps are standard across the line-up, with Digital Matrix LEDs reserved for top-spec Vorsprung editions.

Two technology-focused packs are on offer. The Technology Pack (£2,995) comprises a Bang & Olufsen sound system, multi-colour interior ambient lighting pack, head-up display, 360-degree camera and park assist plus with parking aid.

The Technology Pack Pro (£5,995) features the Grille Illumination exterior ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, USB-C in the rear, heated rear seats and advanced key.

The Tour Pack (£1,995) remains available and comprises adaptive cruise with active lane assist, emergency assist, predictive efficiency assistant, turn assist and swerve assist, while the City Assist Pack (£1,495) adds Audi pre-sense rear, exit warning, cross traffic assist front and rear, lane change assistant and park assist with parking aid. First UK deliveries of the new Q8 50 e-tron start April 2023. An on-sale date for the Black Edition and Vorsprung high-performance variants will be announced later.
