Renault has announced pricing and specification for the new Kangoo and fully electric Kangoo E-Tech vans, which are available to pre-order now. 

Prices start from £17,650 plus VAT for the Kangoo, while the Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric is priced from £26,500 plus VAT including the PiVG

Prices start from £17,650 plus VAT for the Kangoo, which debuts a bold exterior design, advanced technology and a revamped interior. It’s also now available for the first time with the TCe 100 petrol engine, alongside the existing dCi 95 and dCi 115 diesel engines, while the latter is also now offered exclusively with the seven-speed automatic EDC transmission. 

Meanwhile, the Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric delivers up to 186 miles (WLTP) of range and is priced from £26,500 plus VAT including the Plug-in Van Grant. It features a 45kWh battery, located under the load floor so as to not impact on the cargo area. It can be recharged by a typical 7.4 kW Wallbox in under seven hours, while rapid DC charging at up to 75kW can deliver an 80% charge in around 43 minutes. Recharging at a typical 22kW public charger from 15 to 80% takes only 1.5 hours, and the warranty covers the battery’s performance for eight years or 100,000 miles. 

Both the ICE versions and the E-Tech are available in a choice of long- and short-wheelbase formats and two trims as a panel van or in the longer length and entry trim as a Crew van. Payload is up to 615kg for the electric version or 987kg for the diesel. A range of door and glazing options are available, including an extra-wide side loading door on long-wheelbase models that offers an additional 200mm of cargo access. The Kangoo can also be specified with a new Easy Inside Rack that allows long items to be safely stored internally rather than relying on an external roof rack, boosting security and reducing wind resistance to enhance fuel economy and range. 

The new Kangoo is also predicted to benefit from an uplift in residual values after three years/30,000 miles; up by 20-35% over its predecessor, depending on model. 

The two trim levels are designated Start and Advance. Standard equipment on both models includes automatic headlights and wipers, 3.5-inch TFT driver information display, DAB radio with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, electric front windows, manual air con, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. Standard safety features include hill start assist, emergency E-call, and cruise control with speed limiter. 

The fully electric Kangoo E-Tech gets automatic air con, a heated front windscreen, heated seats, and Z.E. Voice. 

Advance models add in an eight-inch touchscreen Easy-Link display with smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric parking brake, reverse parking sensors, premium gear stick with chrome inserts, cloth upholstery with yellow accents, 16-inch wheels, body-coloured door rails, and a wide view mirror. 

Optional extras include wireless smartphone charging, adaptive cruise control, Rear View Assist camera, hands-free parking, and several electronic driver aids such as blind spot warning and intervention, Active Emergency Braking System (AEBS), driver attention alert, high beam assist, and lane keep assist. 

Order books for the new Kangoo open officially on 1 September, with first customer deliveries expected in October.
