New Tesla Model 3 Facelift brings more range, technology and refinement

The new Tesla Model 3 offers sharper body lines and aero-optimised surfaces to reduce drag, improve wind noise and increase range. It is also offers new-look headlights with a totally new aesthetic, with the facelift continuing to the rear with restyled rear lights, integrated into the boot to improve the fit.

There are two new colours available – Ultra Red and Stealth Grey. Ultra Red is a high-chroma colour with dynamic depth created from a multi-coat paint, while Stealth Grey is a dark grey metallic colour. These new colours are joined by new wheel design and tyre combinations to improve aerodynamics, reduce noise and optimise range.

Tesla says the facelift Model 3 comes with a ‘next-generation’ interior, which offers a few changes over the previous model. Gears are now selected via the model’s central 15-4-inch (same size as before) touchscreen, which also offers more usable screen space and continues to offer over-the-air updates. Two wireless phone chargers are available too and there are new eight-inch displays to the rear that can switch between climate control, ventilation and entertainment.

Interior comfort should also be boosted by the new 360˚ acoustic glass, quieter tyres and various sound-deadening materials Tesla has added.

The improved aerodynamics also mean the new Model 3’s range has increased slightly, despite no claimed changes to the battery packs.

The Rear-Wheel Drive variant now manages a claimed 319 miles from a single charge (up from 305 miles), with the Long-Range version offering 391 miles (up from 374 miles). 0-62mph for the 242bhp Rear-Wheel Drive variant is 6.1 seconds and 4.4 seconds for the 346bhp Long-Range.

The new facelifted Model 3 is yet to appear on Tesla’s UK website just yet, but it is likely to go on sale in early 2024. Prices are to be confirmed nearer the on sale dates.
