Nicholls & Clarke has ordered nearly 100 fully electric cars from Hyundai, spearheading its work to go electric.

It’s the first time Nicholls & Clarke has operated fully electric cars

The leading building materials supplier has revamped its fleet policy to provide managers and sales representatives with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the 2022 World Car of the Year. Directors meanwhile can choose the Ioniq 6, which took the 2023 World Car of the Year title.

The first handful of models have already been received as part of the agreement, with more to follow imminently.

The deal sees Nicholls & Clarke switch away from its deal with another carmaker and marks the first time it has operated fully electric cars.

Director Gary Gingell said: “Corporate social responsibility and environmental awareness have long been a fundamental part of the company strategy and key considerations in all our operations, so reducing the emissions of our fleet of cars has become absolutely essential. We are absolutely delighted to go electric in partnership with Hyundai, whose cutting-edge cars have received such widespread acclaim over the past couple of years. I am sure our team is very much looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.”

It’s the latest major win for the burgeoning Hyundai Business division and continues its fleet success, underscored by a recent haul of awards from the industry. These include the Ioniq 6 taking the Best EV Compact Executive Car at the 2023 Great British Fleet Awards.

Hyundai is also working to support fleets with an enlarged virtual account manager team and a comprehensive Fleet Aftersales Charter that guarantees affordable costs and quick service.

It also provides whole-life cost calculators, Benefit-in-Kind rates and competitor comparison tools on its website, helping to provide a clearly defined journey for company car users and fleet managers.

Tim White, head of fleet, Hyundai Motor UK, said: “It is with genuine pride that we announce another great win for Hyundai Business. Nicholls & Clarke is a company that has a well-earned reputation for providing quality products, and we are delighted it has chosen to lower the emissions of its vehicle fleet with our Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. It’s further proof that our exciting line-up of cars and Hyundai Business model are proving really attractive for customers.”
