The DBT-CEV rapid chargers offer AC and DC charging with the ability to restore 80% charge to a Nissan LEAF or e-NV200 within half an hour, and access will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the Nissan Zero Emission Charge Pass scheme.

Project partner SYDEV (Syndicat Départemental d'Energie & d'Equipement de Vendée) said it hopes to have a network of 349 charging points in place by 2016, funded by the itself, the Conseil Général and private companies.

Nissan has 120 rapid chargers installed in France, creating charging corridors in Alsace, the Côte d'Azur, Brittany and Ile-de-France, and will have another 130 installed at Auchan hypermarkets by the end of the year.
