Nissan has announced pricing and specifications for its high-performance Ariya, which combines Nismo handling and performance with Japanese-inspired design and everyday practicality.

The new range-topping version of the all-electric Ariya crossover delivers 435hp and 600Nm of torque

Marking the return of the Nismo performance brand to Europe, the electric crossover opens for pre-orders this week, priced from £56,620; £1,780 more than the dual-motor Ariya e-4orce 87kWh Evolve that it’s based on.

Power for the new range-topping version of the all-electric family car stands at 435hp with 600Nm of torque, enough to complete the 0-62mph sprint in five seconds. Electric range from the 87kWh battery hasn’t been confirmed yet.

The Ariya Nismo also gets major suspension changes to offer precision, control and confident handling in varied road conditions, while the steering system has been optimised to provide more direct feedback, and braking has been reworked.

The Ariya Nismo is initially available in a single specification with a special Stealth Grey exterior finish, previously available on GT-R.

Bespoke Nismo design features include unique seats and signature red accents to the iconic twin diffuser, 20-inch alloys and red Andon interior illumination.
