Ohme inks smart EV charging deal with Volkswagen Group Ireland

Volkswagen Group Ireland has signed up smart charging company Ohme as its official charging partner.

All six Volkswagen Group Ireland brands will now recommend Ohme chargers for electrified vehicle sale

All six Volkswagen Group Ireland brands – Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda, Cupra, SEAT and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles – will now recommend Ohme chargers for electrified vehicle sales.

The brands will also feature a Ohme Home Pro charger in showrooms for customers to view. The company’s range of smart chargers can connect seamlessly with all of Ireland’s electricity suppliers and automatically adjust EV charging times for drivers to take advantage of off-peak tariffs, potentially saving hundreds of euros compared to standard tariffs.

Ohme also offers drivers the option to charge their car when renewable energy generation is at its highest, further lowering their CO2 impact.

“We are delighted to announce that we will be partnering with Ohme as our preferred home charger supplier,” added Carla Wentzel, managing director for Volkswagen Group Ireland. “Ohme’s award-winning Home Pro charger and reputation for excellent customer service represents a clear differentiator in the market and a perfect match to the extensive range of electrified models across the Volkswagen Group umbrella.”

The deal with Volkswagen Group Ireland follows a similar agreement in the UK. Ohme also has existing deals with a number of other partners across Ireland, including the AA, Donegal County Council and Irish Rail.
