Bells Motor Group has signed up Ohme as its official home charging partner.

The group will recommend Ohme chargers for all its new and used electrified vehicle sales

The family-owned dealership will recommend Ohme chargers for all its new and used electrified vehicle sales, with an Ohme Home Pro charger in showrooms for customers to view.

Established in 1967, Bells Motor Group covers franchises from Kia and Volvo across Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. The forward-thinking firm is also supporting the switch to e-mobility with a 200kW DC fast charger and 16 AC chargers at each of its sites.

Clive Bell, managing director of the group, said: “It was clear to us that Ohme’s smart charging capability, award-winning products and excellent customer service made it the obvious choice for Bells Motor Group. With increasing numbers of customers considering electric vehicles, we’re looking forward to recommending Ohme’s smart chargers.”

Ohme’s dynamic smart chargers can connect with the grid in real time and are compatible with any energy tariffs including Intelligent Octopus Go and Ovo Charge Anytime – currently the UK’s cheapest tariffs. Ohme chargers automatically adjust to optimise the cost of charging and accessing all the times of the smartest, greenest and lowest cost energy tariffs.

“Ohme is the fastest-growing home EV charging company in the UK, so this is a natural partnership with the superb Bells Motor Group,” said David Watson, CEO at Ohme. “With Bells in the top 25% of UK retailers for EV sales, it’s a retailer group that is clearly driving forward the transition to EV motoring, so we’re really look forward to working with them.”

A full charge on an all-electric Volvo EX30 Extended Range 69kWh with an Ohme charger on a smart off-peak tariff, such as Intelligent Octopus Go, could cost just £5.18 for a driving range of 295 miles (WLTP).

Ohme is also the official charger provider for Motability Operations and was named Best Chargepoint Manufacturer in the 2024 Irish EV awards.
