Citroën’s updated C5 Aircross family SUV is now available to order, introducing bolder styling and a more premium approach.

The C5 Aircross is available in three trim levels, Sense Plus, Shine and C-Series Edition, with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) plus petrol and diesel powertrain options

Priced from £25,515, the new-look C5 Aircross arrives in showrooms from Q2 and debuts a new front-end with revised badging, updated headlights and a reworked front grille, along with new 3D tail-lights and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels along with gloss black roof bars and door mirrors. New body colours and colour packs are also available, providing fresh personalisation options.

Technology and equipment enhancements include the arrival of the Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension, which uses Progressive Hydraulic Cushions to absorb bumps, and new Citroën Advanced Comfort seats. Debuted in the new C4 and forthcoming C5 X, these are designed to offer “the very best in terms of passenger and driver comfort” with increased foam to bring extra and support for the driver and passengers.

The new C5 Aircross also comes with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a new 10-inch high-definition touchscreen, positioned higher up on the dashboard to reduce stress and help eliminate driver distraction.

It’s available in three trim levels, Sense Plus, Shine and C-Series Edition, with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) plus petrol and diesel powertrain options.

The Sense Plus trim replaces outgoing Sense versions and adds in new features including 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, along with equipment such as a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry and start, and electric folding exterior mirrors.

Shine trim bumps up the equipment with a drive assist pack including adaptive cruise control, advanced comfort seats with Alcantara upholstery and active safety brake with video and radar assistance. An Urban Black styling theme further enhances the upmarket feel in the cabin.

The top-spec C-Series Edition gains a black bi-tone roof with an exclusive anodised bronze colour pack. There is also an opening panoramic glass sunroof, wireless charging and a motorised tailgate with hands-free access.

A total of 19 driver-assistance systems are available across the range, including highway driver assist, adaptive cruise control and active lane departure warning.

As before, the C5 Aircross features three individual, same-width rear seats that slide, recline and fold flat, bringing various interior space configurations. Boot spaces varies from 580 litres up to an impressive 720 litres with the rear seats in place on petrol and diesel variants), while Hybrid models offer from 460 litres up to 600 litres. With the rear seats folded down, petrol and diesel versions bring up to 1,630 litres of boot space, with up to 1,510 litres in PHEV versions.

Engine line-up starts with the 130hp 1.2-litre PureTech 130 S&S six-speed manual, also available with the EAT8 automatic. The diesel option comprises the 130hp 1.5-litre BlueHDi 130 S&S, again with six-speed manual or EAT8 automatic and priced from £26,515. The 180hp PHEV is only available in the top two trims and is priced from £34,430.
