Orders open for Volkswagen ID. Buzz seven-seater and 340hp GTX model
Volkswagen has opened order books for the more spacious ID. Buzz seven-seater and the flagship GTX models.
It’s joined by the top-rung ID. Buzz GTX and GTX seven-seat models; the latest Volkswagens to get the brand’s GTI-equivalent performance label for its EVs. These are priced from £67,435 and £67,945 respectively and output 340hp of power.
The new ID. Buzz long-wheelbase version comes with seven seats as standard while a six-seat configuration is available. Second-row seats slide and recline, and the third row can be taken out to boost boot space further.
The seven-seat model has 306 litres of space behind the third seat row, increasing to a maximum 1,340 litres with the third row folded flat or removed, and 2,469 litres with both the middle and rear rows down. The Multiflex board adjustable boot floor creates a second loading level and, when the rear seats are folded down, a completely flat load area.
Alongside the larger boot, the increase in wheelbase also allows for the installation of an 86kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 291 miles.
The larger 86kWh battery in the seven-seat model can also be charged at a higher rapid DC rate of up to 200kW, allowing it to be replenished from 10-80% in 26 minutes. The 286hp motor allows the seven-seat model to accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds.
The ID. Buzz seven-seat is available in Life and Style designations, priced at £59,545 and £64,345 respectively.
The flagship ID. Buzz GTX and GTX seven-seat take the range crown as the most powerful models, featuring a dual-motor setup for four-wheel-drive capability and the range-topping 340hp total power output. This extra power gives the GTX a towing capacity of 1,800kg and 1,600kg for the long wheelbase.
With the ID. Buzz GTX five-seater, power comes from a 79kWh battery that delivers a WLTP range of 262 miles and is capable of accepting rapid DC charging at up to 185kW, enabling a 10-80% charge in 26 minutes. It’s able to accelerate to 62mph in 6.1 seconds.
The GTX seven-seat gets the same 86kWh battery as the regular long-wheelbase and can be charged with a 200kW supply at DC stations, delivering a WLTP range of 295 miles. It completes the 0-62mph sprint in 6.5 seconds.
Buzz customers will also benefit from Volkswagen Group’s partnership with energy firm Ovo and its ‘Charge Anytime’ add-on, which allows customers to charge their vehicle for 7p/kWh at home at any time of the day or night.
Volkswagen Group customers signing up to Ovo also get up to 10,000 free miles of charging, followed by 1,000 free miles on their contract anniversary for three further years.
Deliveries of the ID. Buzz seven-seater start from early autumn 2024. The GTX, in regular and longer-wheelbase guise, starts rollout from the winter.
