The SeeWoo Group, a leading retailer, wholesaler and distributor of Oriental foods, has deployed a fully electric Mercedes-Benz e-sprinter to cut emissions and costs for its operations.

The e-Sprinter has been supplied by Hexagon Leasing on a one-year contract hire agreement

The business runs a supermarket in the heart of Chinatown in London and will use the e-sprinter to deliver goods to Chinese restaurants across London.

The van produces no CO2 or NOx emissions and offers a range of 82-95 miles while rapid charging can charge the battery 0-80% in 30-120 minutes.

As well as cutting the firm’s carbon footprint, the new van brings benefits including a 100% discount on the Capital’s Congestion Charge and the Ultra Low Emission Zone along with savings on fuel and maintenance.

The vehicle has been supplied by Hexagon Leasing on a one-year contract hire agreement.

Steve Johnson, head of sales at Hexagon Leasing, said: “It’s the perfect van for operating in London. It’s fully electric, cheaper to run and is exempt from the Congestion Charge and the Ultra-Low Emissions Zone fees. It also offers plenty of space, is easy to charge and extremely efficient for urban logistics.”
