Peugeot 3008 gains plug-in hybrid with 52-mile electric range
Peugeot’s 3008 crossover is now available as a plug-in hybrid, providing a further fleet-friendly powertrain for drivers.
Also launching on the larger 5008 SUV, the PHEV powertrain joins the existing fully electric and mild hybrid 3008 versions in the third-generation line-up and delivers an electric-only range of up to 52 miles (WLTP) with a price tag from £40,650.
The plug-in hybrid 195 e-DSC7 powertrain, also seen in other Stellantis group models, combines an updated version of the 1.6-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged PureTech petrol engine from the previous-generation 3008 PHEV and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission incorporating a 125hp electric motor.
It’s rated for CO2 emissions of 19-20g/km, while the 52-mile all-electric range puts it in the 8% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) ranking.
Three drive modes are available: Hybrid, Electric and Sport. Hybrid is set as the default and automatically manages operation of the petrol engine and electric motor, prioritising all-electric driving as often as possible. Electric mode allows driving using only electric power at speeds up to 83mph, while in Sport the electric power is used to supplement the petrol engine to deliver maximum performance.
The 3008 PHEV can be charged at 3.7kW via an AC charger as standard. An optional 7.4kW onboard charger is available, cutting AC charging time to two hours 45 minutes.
The line-up starts with Allure trim from £40,650, while GT trim is priced from £44,450.
First customer deliveries are due early 2025.
