It’s the brand’s first fully electric estate and joins the recently launched E-308 hatchback and the existing 308/308 SW petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid models, providing enhanced choice for drivers.

It’s based on the same underpinnings as the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer Electric that’s also recently debuted under parent company Stellantis and brings another much-welcome new entrant to the small but growing electric estate car market. Other models in this sector include the MG5 EV, Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo and the forthcoming Audi A6 Avant e-tron, Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer and BMW i5 Touring.

Boot space stands at 548 litres with the rear seats up and measured to the parcel shelf, rising to 1,574 litres up to the roof with the rear seats down.

As with the electric Astra Electric and e-308 variants, it’s powered by a new 156hp electric motor that enables it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 9.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 106mph. This is paired with a 54kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 254 miles and offering claimed best-in-class efficiency with 4.93 miles per kWh. A heat pump is included as standard to increase efficiency and on-board comfort.

Three driving modes – Eco, Normal and Sport – are on offer whilst the ‘Brake’ mode provides enhanced regenerative braking.

An onboard three-phase 11kW charger is included as standard, and a 20-80% charge takes less than 25 minutes with a 100kW DC rapid charger.

As with the rest of the 308 range, the E-308 SW features the current Peugeot design features, such as the latest brand badge, the brand’s integrated fang-shaped light signatures and Matrix LED headlamps on GT versions, along with the three-claw LED lights at the rear. The electric models also get bespoke ‘E’ badges at the rear and unique 18-inch alloy wheels that come with a diamond-cut finish and provide improved aerodynamic efficiency.

The interior comes with the brand’s i-Cockpit setup, featuring a compact steering wheel, a fully customisable digital instrument cluster (with a 3D Quartz display on GT variants) plus a 10-inch central touchscreen with the i-Connect Advanced infotainment and customisable i-Toggles.

Drivers also get access to the MyPeugeot smartphone application with dedicated electric functionality, such as the ability to view the battery charge status, start charging remotely, schedule a charging session, programme the cabin pre-conditioning system, and set a destination on the 3D Connected Navigation.

The E-308 and E-308 SW are available with a choice of two trim levels: Allure and GT. Prices for the E-308 SW start from £41,250 in Allure grade while the GT trim is priced at £43,320 – both marking a £1,200 uplift from the hatchback.

First customer deliveries start from February 2024.
