Polestar 3 SUV gains entry-level rear-wheel drive version

The Polestar 3 SUV is now available in a new entry-level rear-wheel drive version, delivering more range for a lower price tag.

The entry-level Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor is priced at £69,900

Priced at £69,900, the new arrival joins the Long Range Dual Motor and Performance Pack models, which are priced at £75,900 and £81,500 and are just starting deliveries globally.

The entry-level Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor, which will be built in China and the USA, uses the same 111kWh battery pack as the Dual Motor version, offering up to 403 miles WLTP between charges, compared to 379 miles for its sister model.

It also delivers the same 250kW peak charging capability for a 30-minute 10-80% charge on DC.

The 295hp motor delivers 490Nm of torque and enables acceleration from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds. The Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor uses the same Brembo braking system as the rest of the Polestar 3 range and comes with a passive damper system that uses Hydraulic Rebound Stops and Frequency Selective Damping to emulate the driving characteristics of the dual-motor version.

It’s available with the same luxury features, technology and design as the rest of the Polestar 3 line-up and is available to order from today.

Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, said: “With the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3, we offer consumers a new entry-point for our flagship electric SUV. The rear-wheel drive configuration fits with our performance-focused driving dynamics that make the car stand out in the luxury SUV sector.”

Polestar has also introduced MY25 updates across the Polestar 3 including a single option and pack structure to enable customers to personalise their Polestar 3. Buyers can choose from six exterior colours, five interior rooms and four wheel options, including the new 21-inch alloy wheel available as part of the new Pro Pack.

Like the rest of the MY25 range, Pilot Pack with LiDAR from Luminar becomes available to order on the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor.
