Polestar names new head of sales as Beattie moves to BYD
Polestar has appointed Rob Morris as its new head of sales, replacing Steve Beattie who has moved to BYD.
Morris joins Polestar just six months after he became UK head of mobility and fleet management at Ceva Logistics following a move from Volvo.
Commenting on his new role at Polestar, Morris said he was “super excited to be joining at such a pivotal time in the brand’s journey in the UK”.
Latest launches by the Swedish firm include the Polestar 3 luxury SUV that’s got the BMW iX and Mercedes EQE in its sights (see road test here).
The smaller Polestar 4 has also now landed, the electric carmaker’s fastest model to date and with the lowest carbon footprint of its three existing models.
Morris started out his automotive career with more than seven years at Škoda as fleet sales manager. He then spent eight and a half years at Mercedes, finishing as national fleet operations manager, before moving to Volvo in 2021.
Roles at Volvo included head of fleet and remarketing and then head of direct sales operations.
Morris replaces Steve Beattie who’s now sales and marketing director at BYD after five months at Polestar and six months as sales and operations director at Vauxhall.
Beattie also joined Chinese EV brand Nio in 2023 to help pave the way for its UK launch.
Beattie’s background also includes nearly six years at Volvo Car UK and more than 12 years at Vauxhall, where his career in the UK auto sector started.
