Citroën said the plans were part of an ongoing development plan, which would include increasing the size and coverage of its EV Specialist dealer network in the UK. Readying for forthcoming hybrid and electric models, including a battery-electric Berlingo van, the carmaker will add another ten sites to its sales network, bringing the total to 21, while aftersales services for the C-Zero will be available at around 100 locations.

Linda Jackson, Citroën UK’s managing director, commented: ‘2011 marked the introduction of EV’s in the UK. 2012 will see the market continue to grow as the technology becomes more accepted by consumers, more manufacturers enter the market and the charging infrastructure continues to develop.’

Peugeot, meanwhile, said it will introduce an electric Partner van in 2013, complementing the iOn and HYbrid4 models already on sale.
