PSA appoints POD Point as recommended charging unit supplier
The PSA Group has named POD Point as its recommended supplier of EV charging units, effective immediately.
The deal includes the installation of POD Point units at selected Peugeot and Citroën dealerships throughout the UK while POD Point will also support and be recommended by Citroën for both fleet and retail customers across both corporate and dealership sales.
The move also means that anyone purchasing a Citroën plug-in vehicle will be able to easily access a charge point for their home or workplace.
Helen Lees, head of electric vehicles for the PSA group in the UK, commented: “POD Point has a strong emphasis on the importance of training and education in the sales process of electric vehicles and charging solutions, which we see as crucial in this emerging market. It’s vital that our customers are fully informed and only select electric vehicles when the transport and charging needs suit their circumstances. POD Point provides our customers with a competitive offer for standard or rapid charging at home or at the workplace. We also predict growth in our electric LCV sales in particular, so we’re delighted that POD Point can offer our business customers workplace charging solutions part-funded by the new government grant.”
This deal follows similar partnership agreements with Airparks and Hyundai.
Erik Fairbairn, CEO and founder of POD Point, said: “We believe that travel shouldn’t damage the earth, so we take enormous pride in helping plug-in vehicle owners to get the most out of their electric vehicles. The EV industry is on the cusp of a hyper-growth phase, and this is another step closer to the point where plug-in cars become the de facto way to drive.”
