Quest Waste fleet goes hybrid with Toyota Corolla Commercial van
Quest Waste Management is switching from diesel power to hybrid electric with the arrival of the Toyota Corolla Commercial van for its fleet.
The drainage, waste and utility specialist operates from depots in Yorkshire, the Midlands and North West and North East England, serving domestic and commercial customers across a range of sectors.
It’s deployed the British-built Corolla Commercial vans for its sales and emergency response teams, which provide onsite support across the country.
The new vehicles feature Chapter 8 livery and LED beacon systems for safe UK highway access and compliance for site visits.
Nick Rushworth, Quest operations director, said: “As part of our environmentally conscious business strategy, we are striving to reduce CO2 emissions across our vehicle fleet. The hybrid electric Toyota Corolla Commercial not only helps us in this objective but also provides our teams with the practicality of a van based on a car design.
“These vehicles stand out with their fuel efficiency, impressive driving performance, and streamlined design featuring our company colours. They also provide sufficient space to accommodate the essential tools and equipment needed for on-site operations.
“From our initial enquiries, Toyota demonstrated a high level of knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for helping us. The entire process, from test-driving various models to finalising the paperwork, was smooth and efficient.”
The Corolla Commercial is built alongside the Corolla Hatchback and Touring Sports passenger cars at Toyota’s vehicle plant in Derby. It’s based on the Corolla Touring Sports but with the rear seats replaced with a lined load area, giving a 1,326-litre load space. The conversion includes a rubber load space lining, full bulkhead grille, interior light and 12v power outlet.
Its latest-generation 1.8-litre petrol electric hybrid technology now delivers more power and faster acceleration, while still offering WLTP CO2 emissions from 100g/km, with fuel economy from 64.2mpg. It’s available in a single grade and priced at £24,550 (CVOTR excl. VAT).
