The Renault 5 E-Tech electric supermini is on sale now, priced from £22,995.

The newly crowned European Car of the Year and What Car? Car of the Year combines the iconic Renault 5 moniker with retro styling, practicality and up to 252 miles of WLTP range.

The powertrain line-up includes the ‘Urban Range’ model with a 40kWh battery and 120hp motor or the ‘Comfort Range’ version with a 52kWh battery, 150hp motor and the headline range of up to 252 miles.

Both models are fitted with an 11kW AC onboard charger that gives a charging time of four hours 51 minutes for the Comfort Range. For public charging, the Urban Range powertrain can charge up to 80kW DC, rising to 100kW for the Comfort Range version, allowing a 15-80% charge in 30 minutes.

The My Renault app allows drivers to monitor charging, pre-set the cabin to their desired temperature or search for charging stations remotely.

All models come with a heat pump as standard, as well as vehicle-to-load (V2L) bi-directional charging functionality that enables the 5 to charge devices with an adaptor.

Grades span Evolution, Techno and Iconic Five designations. Standard equipment includes 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Despite its city-friendly proportions, the five-door Renault 5 E-Tech electric offers comfortable seating for five as well as a practical 326-litre boot, complete with dedicated storage for charging cables.

First deliveries start in the UK in spring 2025.
