Renault has updated the Kangoo van for the 2024 model year, complete with a new look, extra equipment and up to a £2,500 reduction for the fully electric E-Tech version.

Available to order now, the small van gains a redesigned front-end with a new grille design that displays the brand’s latest visual identity.

Standard equipment has also been augmented and the list now includes a 4.2-inch colour driver display, electric parking brake, passenger sun visor with mirror, automatic high beam assist, and a rear parking camera.

These join existing standard features such as automatic headlights and rain-sensitive front wipers, air conditioning, electric front windows with ‘one touch’ driver’s side, cruise control with speed limiter, and 8.0-inch touchscreen with DAB radio, Bluetooth, USB ports and smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Safety feature updates deliver both driver and passenger airbags plus front lateral and curtain airbags with deactivation as standard. All versions now also have driver attention and drowsiness warning, tyre pressure monitoring, and intelligent speed assist with overspeed prevention and traffic sign recognition, supporting new vehicle safety regulations from July.

Higher-spec ‘Extra’ models now also come with 360-degree parking sensors and blind spot intervention.

Renault has now slashed prices for the Kangoo E-Tech, which it says is down to manufacturing and distribution efficiencies. The fully electric van is now up to £2,500 cheaper on MWB models and £1,000 on long wheelbase variants.

All models qualify for the Plug-in Van Grant, with £2,500 of support for MWB models and £5,000 for LWB variants. As a result, the Kangoo E-Tech now starts at £27,350 excluding VAT and including the PiVG.

The Kangoo E-Tech delivers up to 186 miles of WLTP range while the 45kWh battery is located under the load floor, ensuring there’s no impact on the cargo area. The van has a load volume of up to 4.2m3, up to 764kg of payload and 1,500kg of towing capacity.

It can be recharged from 20-80% by a typical 7.4kW wallbox in just over four hours, while rapid DC charging at up to 80kW can deliver an 80% charge in around 40 minutes.

First deliveries of the 2024MY Kangoo start from July.
