Renault launches subscription scheme for Mégane E-Tech electric hatch
Renault is now offering an inhouse subscription scheme for its Mégane E-Tech electric hatch, providing a highly flexible way to get behind the wheel.
Developed in collaboration with Bipi, Renault Group’s recently acquired subscription arm, and its Mobilize Financial Services UK division, the new solution is designed to make it as straightforward as possible for customers to switch from a conventional petrol or diesel car to an electric vehicle.
The all-inclusive monthly payment covers servicing, insurance, road tax, breakdown cover and even congestion charges – drivers only need to pay for charging costs. Prices start from £599 and no down-payment is required, just a fully refundable security deposit, equal to one monthly payment.
Subscriptions are tailored to the exact needs of the individual customer, with flexible terms from 3 to 24 months and a customisable monthly allowance of 750 miles as standard.
Starting a subscription takes place entirely online and requires only a few minutes. The online journey guides the customer through the process, from selection and payment, through to delivery to their door for a one-off fee of £99.50.
The subscription can also be cancelled by the customer at any time.
The scheme launches as drivers not only look to switch to electric cars but also to transform conventional vehicle ownership routes.
Guillaume Sicard, country head UK & managing director Renault Brand UK, commented: “Traditional ownership methods will always have a place but, in line with how we now pay for many goods and services, there’s a very significant increase in those who would consider a car on a subscription basis. Our new all-encompassing subscription service means we have the perfect answer, providing consumers with an exceptionally flexible and convenient way to own and enjoy a highly usable multi award-winning electric vehicle.”
Earlier this week, the Onto electric car subscription service also announced that the Mégane E-Tech had joined its fleet.
The new electric hatchback is the first of a new generation of Renault electric vehicles built on the CMF-EV platform, styled within the brand’s ‘sensual tech’ design language and the first model to wear the new ‘Nouvel’R’ logo.
It delivers an electric driving range of up to 280 miles (WLTP), plus a 12.3-inch dashboard display, nine-inch multimedia display, and Android Automotive OS with integrated Google services featuring from the Techno trim upwards.
