Renault offers free Twizy for Spanish Laguna and Espace buyers

Available for all variants of the Laguna and the Espace, the deal includes a Twizy 45 – a lower-priced version of the quadricycle currently unavailable in the UK – sold with the carmaker’s monthly battery leasing scheme.

The entry-level Twizy model is available from €6,990 (£5,500) in Spain, and would be eligible to drive without a full license in the UK due to a recent change in the law.

Renault has experienced slow demand for its larger models of late. Laguna and Espace were among models withdrawn from the UK range at the start of 2012, and European sales totalled 5,306 and 2,230 respectively for the first six months of the year, against 29,295 and 9,380 for the same period last year.

The Spanish market is particularly tough at the moment, down 10.2% in the first six months of 2012. Renault Group sales for the first half of 2012 were 22.0% year on year.
