Renault slashes price for Scenic E-Tech electric with new entry-level model

Renault has introduced a new lead-in version of its Scenic E-Tech electric SUV, cutting the entry pricing to £37,495.

The new Comfort Range joins the existing Long Range version and cuts lead-in pricing

The new Comfort Range joins the existing Long Range model launched in December 2023, which is priced from £40,995. It features a smaller 60kWh battery and a 170hp motor, compared to the 87kWh battery and 220hp motor in the Long Range variant.

This significantly increases the affordability of the Scenic E-Tech electric while providing a WLTP range of up to 260 miles, compared to the 379 miles for its Long Range sibling.

It also comes with the same charging options, providing up to 22kW AC and up to 130kW DC capacity. The latter enables a 15-80% zap in some 32 minutes from a suitable public charger, giving around 169 miles of range.

It’s available exclusively in the entry Techno trim. The longer-range version also offers a choice of Esprit Alpine and Iconic grades.

Standard features for the new arrival include 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, front and rear full LED lights, electric flush door handles, flush roof bars, shark fin antenna, electric folding door mirrors and logo puddle lights.

The interior comes with a 12.3-inch driver information display and 12-inch OpenR multimedia screen, powered by Google services with Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play store.

Standard equipment also delivers wireless smartphone replication and charging, automatic air con, a frameless electro-chromatic rear-view mirror, rear-view camera, front and rear park assist, heated front seats and steering wheel, paddle shifters for regenerative braking, automatic wipers, multi-sense with ambient lighting, and electric boot opening.

Advanced driver assistance systems bring intelligent adaptive cruise control, traffic and speed sign recognition, driver attention alert, distance warning alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring, active emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection and blind spot warning.

Guillaume Sicard, country head UK and managing director Renault Brand UK, said: “Renault is committed to democratising EV ownership and introducing the new 60kWh battery Comfort Range version was a logical decision, bringing our latest all-electric SUV within reach of a wider array of car buyers. With a range of up to 260 miles, it offers a great blend of value and usability to all customers, whether private, business or purchasing via Motability.”

For a limited time only, the new Comfort Range model is available for £429 per month on a 7.9% APR representative, four-year Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) deal with a £750 deposit contribution.

The new addition to the Scenic E-Tech line-up is available to order now.
