Revamped Citroën C4 and C4 X get bolder looks and major price cut for electric ë-C4

Citroën’s new-look C4 family hatchback, C4 X saloon and their electric counterparts are launching in the UK, complete with a big price cut for the ë-C4 hatchback.

The latest ë-C4 delivers a saving of over £5,600

Uncovered at the Paris Motor Show, the upgraded models deliver Citroën’s new design identity that includes a revised front-end and more aerodynamic rear.

The fully electric ë-C4 and ë-C4 X are available with two powertrain choices, offering a 136hp and 50kWh battery combo alongside a 156hp and 54kWh battery. The latter delivers a WLTP range up to 264 miles and 258 miles respectively for the ë-C4 and ë-C4 X. The ë-C4 and ë-C4 X are also available with vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology that enables external devices to be powered.

Prices for the ë-C4 now start from £26,295, marking a reduction of over £5,600 versus the outgoing model, while the ë-C4 X starts from £27,360.

The petrol line-up includes Hybrid 100 and Hybrid 136 models, featuring a turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and 48V hybrid technology. The Hybrid 100 is exclusive to the C4. The new C4 and C4 X are priced from £22,295 and £24,735.

Grade choices span You!, Plus and Max designations for the C4 and ë-C4 while the C4 X and ë-C4 X will only be available in Plus and Max trims.

Standard equipment across all versions includes new 18-inch bi-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 10-inch touchscreen featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic windscreen wipers and LED lights, rear parking sensors, and dual-zone climate control.

The C4 and C4 X also get Citroën’s upgraded Advanced Comfort seats, redesigned to enhance posterior comfort, and supplemented by 15mm thicker foam.

Plus models gain a reversing camera with top rear vision, electrically folding mirrors and an anti-theft alarm. The infotainment system is also upgraded to the My Citroën Drive Plus system, which includes connected 3D satellite navigation and a new 7.0-inch driver’s digital display.

Max models come with design features such dark-tinted rear windows, Gold ‘Satin’ Colour Clips, a silver chrome lower skid plate and plusher interior, while also gaining heated front seats and steering wheel, automatic intelligent beam headlights, front/rear/lateral parking aid, and adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go functionality.
