The 2023 Range Rover has gained higher-performance and longer-range plug-in hybrids as part of a range update.

The updated PHEV models deliver increased pure-electric driving range

The previous P440e and P510e models have now been replaced with new P460e and P550e variants that feature a more powerful 218hp electric motor. Combined with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine, the new motor boosts output from 440hp to 460hp and 510 to 550hp respectively.

The updated motor enhances acceleration in EV mode, reducing the time it takes to reach 62mph in pure-electric power by 5.0 seconds. Paired up with the engine, the P550e can complete the 0-62mph sprint in 5.0 seconds, compared to 5.5 seconds previously.

The new PHEV models also deliver increased pure-electric driving range, up to 75 miles from 70 miles and delivering an expected real-world range of up to 59 miles. CO2 emissions are rated at 16g/km WLTP.

Range Rover has also rolled out the new PHEV powertrain to the long wheelbase SV model, marking a first.

The new PHEV options are available alongside the existing six-cylinder mild hybrid petrol and diesel Ingenium engines while the P530 V8 also now features mild hybrid technology for an improvement in efficiency. It’s offered alongside a new, more powerful 615hp V8 MHEV flagship petrol engine with 750Nm of torque.

Further updates to Range Rover include the latest-generation Pivi Pro infotainment, accessed via a 13.1-inch floating glass touchscreen, which comes with new sidebars featuring easy-to-use sliding controls for the volume and climate control. A claimed 80% of tasks can now be performed within two taps of the home screen.

Amazon Alexa voice AI and Land Rover voice control systems are integrated and over-the-air updates are available.

New Country Road Assist technology debuts, using navigation data to automatically adjust the target speed, taking into account bends in the road and changes to the speed limit.

Dynamic Response Pro is now available, already seen in the Range Rover Sport and using electric roll control technology to reduce body lean when cornering.

Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control is also introduced as part of the Terrain Response system, providing a choice of four comfort settings to adjust speed in tricky terrain.

The latest SV Bespoke commissioning service also offers Range Rover Autobiography and SV clients enhanced personalisation through an extended choice of materials, colour combinations and finishes. Up to 391 interior material colourways and 230 colours are available in the SV Bespoke paint palette, as well as a Match to Sample service.
