Rivus makes garage network EV-ready

By / 4 years ago / UK News / No Comments

Rivus is continuing its investment in its garage network, including accelerating work to ensure EV-readiness and introducing a new flagship site.

Work within the Rivus garage network includes making all sites EV-ready and introducing new branding and HGV support facilities

Most Rivus garages are now equipped to service, maintain and repair EVs from major manufacturers – with the remaining garages to follow suit in 2021. Technicians have carried out rigorous training programmes to IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) standards, while Rivus has also installed new diagnostic equipment for EVs, tooling and charging facilities.

The commercial fleet management firm has also upgraded its diagnostics for traditional non-electric vehicles, enabling it to serve more of the latest model types.

The developments within the UK-wide network also include a brand-new site in Southampton, which is 60% larger than its predecessor and has the added capability of being able to support HGVs. The site also features conference-standard facilities available to Rivus customers for training events and meetings.

There are similar developments elsewhere in the Rivus network, with the Cardiff garage recently being replaced with a larger HGV-compatible garage while Rivus will also open a second garage in Bristol in the first half of the year with facilities to match those of Southampton and Cardiff, and located outside the planned Clean Air Zone.

Geoff Allison, garage services director at Rivus, said: “There’s a huge need from fleet operators to have first-class levels of resilience combined with a flexible approach – something which the pandemic has amplified. Our investment in the Rivus garage network will only strengthen our qualities in these areas, together with ensuring a seamless transition to EVs for our customers.”
