Roadchef, one of the UK’s leading motorway service operators, has upgraded its Killington Lake services with further EV chargers.

The ultra-rapid Gridserve chargers are available now

Located on the M6 in Cumbria, between junctions 36 and 37, the site has now been outfitted with three 360KW electric vehicle chargers with six connectors.

Available now, the ultra-rapid Gridserve chargers, with Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors for maximum compatibility, enable drivers to fully charge their vehicles in minutes.

The chargers also support contactless payments and provides real-time status updates to several popular EV charging apps and maps.

These new additions join the existing two rapid chargers at Killington Lake, which are equipped with both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, further enhancing the location’s charging capabilities.

A spokesperson for Roadchef said: “With electric vehicles increasing their market share in the UK, as highlighted by SMMT, Roadchef’s continued investment in charging infrastructure is a crucial step in future-proofing Britain’s roads.”
