Rolec adds value to OLEV home charging point grant

By / 10 years ago / International News / No Comments

The manufacturer is offering both the 16amp (3.6kW) and 32amp (7.2kW) charging units through the OLEV Electric Vehicle Homecharge scheme, without the normal fee of around £100 to upgrade to the faster unit.

To be eligible for the grant, which covers 75% of the cost of the unit, customers must have either ordered or already own a plug-in vehicle, or lease or drive a company vehicle for more than six months.

Rolec is subsidising the remaining cost, meaning customers can take advantage of twice the charging speed of most domestic units, provided the vehicle’s on-board charger is capable of taking the higher power. In both cases, the unit can be ordered with or without a tethered cable to support the two most common connections, or as a socketed unit.

Bianca Orrey, Rolec business development manager, said: ‘We believe Rolec is the only charging point manufacturer offering 32amp and 16amp charging points, in both tethered lead and charging socket formats, for free. This unique offer will continue until March 2015 or until funding for the scheme runs out.’
