The Glasgow-based company has a fleet of 70 Mercedes-Benz models distributed across its operations in Edinburgh, London, Paris, America and Asia, and the 44.8mpg, 147g/km S400 L Hybrid was chosen because it best matches the driving conditions of London traffic.

All cars are equipped individually adjustable rear seats and climate control, a roller blind package, panoramic roof and Air Balance scented cabin function, and will be used to transport blue chip clients in the capital for a lifespan of between 15 and 24 months.

Michael O’Hare, CEO of TBR Global, said: ‘In all my time in the industry I’ve never seen such a reaction from customers, the first client even took photographs of the car and we’ve had others showing it to their contacts when they’ve been to meetings and saying that they’ve never been collected in anything like it before.

‘The environmental compatibility of the S 400 L HYBRID also conforms to our customers’ requirements and the added refinement of the petrol engine hasn’t gone unnoticed.’

Usman Akram, Corporate Sales Manager at Mercedes-Benz of Edinburgh which delivered the new additions, added: ‘The S 400 L HYBRID represents a fantastic choice, being the first ever petrol hybrid model produced by Mercedes-Benz and combining an output of 333hp with exemplary efficiency, and the reaction of TBR Global to the new S-Class mirrors other feedback and interest in the latest model that we have received.’
