Select Car Leasing revamps electric division

Select Car Leasing has radically revamped its ‘Select Electric’ division, supporting plans to be ‘at the forefront’ of the electric motoring revolution.

The Select Electric arm enjoyed a high-profile outing at the recent 2021 British Motor Show in Farnborough, Hampshire, with the firm sponsoring the ‘Select Electric Motor Show’ as part of the event

The independent car and van leasing specialist, which was established in 2004 and runs a fleet of over 50,000 vehicles, launched its dedicated ‘Select Electric’ web presence in 2020, offering an extensive range of hybrid and electric vehicles.

Following a recruitment drive, Select Car Leasing has put a specialist new team together to ensure it can meet the needs of both business lease and personal contract hire customers.

It’s also revamped its Select Electric website to include everything from helpful guides covering grants, charging costs and battery life, as well as all the latest electric and hybrid vehicle news from all the major manufacturers.

In addition, all the firm’s customer-facing staff are undergoing rigorous training to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest EV developments. The business runs regular, live sessions delivered by industry experts, as well as providing high-impact, targeted modules via its Learning Management System.

Select co-owner Mark Tongue said the entire language of motoring is changing rapidly – and he’s doing all he can to ensure staff are thought leaders as the industry marches towards the Government’s decisive ‘net zero’ target.

He says: “We strive every day to make Select Car Leasing 100% relevant to the changing needs of our customers.

“Where once it was enough to talk about MPG, cylinders and cubic capacity, now we need to embrace and promote miles per kWh, AC and DC charging rates, battery range and the like. As the language and structure of motoring changes before our very eyes, so too must Select to maintain our lead into the future.”
