Starting deliveries early next year and available in SE and SE-L trims, the Citigo-e iV joins the conventional petrol-engined version and features an 83hp electric motor, giving a WLTP-rated range of up to 170 miles alongside a 0-62mph acceleration time of 12.5 seconds and top speed of 81mph.

The 36.8kWh battery pack can be charged to 80% capacity using a 7.2kW AC wall box in 4 hours 15 minutes, or 12 hours 37 minutes using a lower-powered 3.6kW home charging station. The higher-spec SE L model – which is priced from £19,315 (including government grant) – can make use of a 40kW DC fast charger using a CCS (Combined Charging System) charging cable, giving an 80% charge in 60 minutes. Drivers can also use the Škoda Connect app to check on battery charge status.

The addition of the new battery and electric motor doesn’t impact on boot space and the Citigo-e iV brings the same 250 litres of space as the standard model, rising to 923 litres with the rear seats folded flat.

Standard equipment on the entry-level SE includes climate control air conditioning, three-spoke leather steering wheel and handbrake lever, plus Swing DAB radio and remote central locking.

The SE L model adds in features including 16-inch alloy wheels, ambient lighting, comfort pack (heated front seats and rear parking sensors) and body coloured door mirrors and handles, as well as the CCS rapid charging capability.
