Škoda Enyaq vRS becomes fastest Škoda ever
Škoda is upping power and performance for its range-topping Enyaq vRS, making it the brand’s fastest and most powerful model yet.
The Czech carmaker’s sporty flagship, launched last year in both SUV guise and as the more rakish Coupé, gets a 41hp power boost for the 2024 model year. The increase means it’s able to accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds, a full second quicker than the previous model.
The increase from 299hp to 340hp also ensures the combined output from the car’s dual motors is the highest figure ever for a production Škoda model.
Importantly, the power and performance improvements don’t come at the expense of range and the new 2024 MY Enyaq is now able to go further between charges. The new model has a provisional WLTP range of 340 miles for the Coupé, up 16 miles, while the SUV increases range 15 miles to 336. Battery capacity remains unchanged at 77kWh usable.
The new Enyaq vRs also delivers faster rapid charging – now up to 175kW peak on a DC rapid charger from 135kW before – thanks to technical improvements. The higher peak speed means drivers can now complete a 10-80% charge on a 175kW or faster DC rapid charger in around 28 minutes – an improvement of eight minutes.
Škoda is also boosting equipment levels with new standard features. These include travel assist and speed assist, walk away locking, rear side airbags, rear window blinds, rear USB-C charging ports and tow bar prep. Drivers can also add in two optional equipment packs with the Advanced (£2,035) and Maxx packages £3,980.
Other technical improvements include an updated infotainment system, designed to be easier to navigate with new graphics and screens. The Enyaq vRS’s digital cockpit for drivers and optional head-up display have also been reworked for clearer and easier use.
Ordering for the 2024 MY Enyaq vRS starts later in October. Prices are still to be announced.
